Single Vineyard from the Riverland, SA. Harvested on flavour to ensure we get the most we can out of this variety. Hand plunged in small tubs during fermentation and left on skins for 2 weeks. Matured in older oak barrels for 12 months before being put to bottle. No fining and no filtration.
Black purple. Pouring it in the glass, it’s easy to think its ink with the colour but its not. It’s a big, juicy, plump wine that is a simple side step for the Shiraz drinkers. Roasted Beetroot, wild cherry, mulberry. Chuck in some red currants and that’s all the food groups. This wine has depth but without the chewy tannins. It’s more about full body, length and persistence. The variety has been around for more than 3000 years so we should respect that and enjoy its deliciousness.
