Fruit is sourced from a single vineyard just west of the Auburn township. Harvested while the fruit is plump and juicy to ensure we get the bright flavours we are after. Crushed and left on skins to ferment in small tubs with gentle hand plunging. Put to older oak barrels and allowed to mature for 18 months before being transferred to bottle. No filtration and no fining.
Malbec is a gem of a variety whose bright blue fruit flavours and delicate tannin structure have been exploited to harness and smooth edgy structures of other varieties (Im looking at you Cabernet Sauvignon..). Malbec is a variety that holds its own. With Rhubarb and roses on the nose and a delicious hit of mulberry and ripe berries in the mouth, it’s a delicious drop. The fine tannins and striking acid line lift the wine to new heights. Lets put Malbec front and centre where it belongs.
